Ploddington Bear I couldn't run this ... had done virtually no training (boo hiss) and reckoned that 3 miles once a week for the previous three months wasn't going to get me round a 10 mile course.
The FIRST time I have ever booked a race and not run it! Shameful...

tom_craggs Pretty pleased with my time, haven't been training for a while properly since Berlin marathon becuase of a fair bit of knee pain. Nice race, mainly club runners it seemed but still very friendly and well organised.

funkin Unlike last year I actually set off at a reasonable pace and ran the first mile in 6:23 (which turned out to be my fastest mile). I have very little else to report on the race other than at about mile 3 my calves started to feel really tight again. I continued on but could feel them every step. My pace did slow down slightly, with the slowest mile from 4-5 (6:47 pace). I recovered from this and stayed strong till the finish, where I crossed the line in 66:02. I’m happy with how I ran considering the build-up to the race, and this was as good as I could have expected. Best thing was winning a bike in the spot-prize raffle thingy afterwards!!!

Agent Orange Watch time 1:11:35. Gun time 1:11:56. What happened here? Far exceeded expectations! Began steadily and found myself doing miles of 7.0x, getting to half way in 35.30. As this was my longest race since March, I wasn't confident about holding the speed to the end but felt pretty good. Although the crowd was thin, they and the marshalls were enthusiastic and that kept up my pace. Perfect conditions and a very enjoyable morning!

PaulaMc Don't know if I can take much time off my 10mile time, so won't be too optimistic! - Well, I got that wrong! Took 1 min 13 secs off last year's time and that was without a Garmin to tell me to go faster. Lovely race.

Lalli Going to take this easy as it's Julie's first 10 mile race. She did brilliantly and we finished in 1:43:35 by my Garmin. Chip times to follow. This was a lovely race and the sun even popped out for the last mile!
