Thanks all, and well done simbil. Yeah, I found it really tough, but I was pleased to have done it. The longest I've done before was a solo 100k but that was on a pretty flat route (I did laps of the Tick Tock route) and I found that fine, but the step up to 130k and the climb at the end was hard. Got it done though :)

Good effort, Big_G

A rather diminished club social this morning, as most people looked out the window and decided the real world appealed more. As organiser (the *prize* for being first up AdZ last week!), wasn't an option I had.

So an hour chattering away on the French lowlands, and then a hard tempo effort up to Chalet Reynard. A bit of lounging in front of Haut Var awaits I think.

Hope you nailed the horses Gobi.

Anyone else signed up for the Haute Route next weekend? 'Looking forward' to 3 hilly rides in a row Fri-Sun :-)

Cstar- myself and TRO are planning to race

Four horsemen went well with a 53 min alpe in zone 2 . Feeling pretty good if not a lite tired.

Looking forward to easy Monday.

Since I was extolling the virtues of zwift clubs a few days ago, it would be remiss of me not to mention that with clubs comes (at least potentially) club politics and control and bullying in their leadership. I suppose it's not unexpected (though also not by any mean inevitable) that the sort of person who is prepared to put in the time and effort to run a club, will turn out to be the sort of person who likes to be in control.

What may be most surprising to those who know me (indeed it is surprising to me), is that I was not involved in any way at all, it was my wife who fell victim. Never mind, there are other clubs - and we've already had warm welcomes elsewhere.

On a more positive note, my first victory today! Ok, it was only age-group victory, and I know it just means the far stronger riders didn't show, but you can only race what's in front of you and I did ride well (for me).

The ZHR masters race is an unusual and interesting (IMO) alternative to most races, in that all riders race together, so rather than having a pack of sandbaggers at the front pushing up against the category limit, you know there will be some ridiculously strong guys miles up the road, you just have to race your best in the field. A bit like mass start road running. You also roughly know your age-group opponents by jersey colour, but only in 10y bands whereas the results are given in 5y bands. I thought I was racing for 2nd and it turns out the two blue-shirts who beat me were 55-60 and didn't count :-)

Highly recommended (though, I guess like anything else it may get boring after a while).
