I just have the profile in training peaks (coach uses WKO but behind the scenes) - it says I'm just about edging into Cat 2 for 5 minutes, Cat 3 for 5/20 minutes and absolutely rubbish at sprinting. The sprinting part of that feels about right, but I don't actually train it so it's not much of a surprise! The bigger surprise is 5 minute power being stronger than 20 minutes, which makes me wonder if I should try hill climbs at some point.

Sorry, that should have said Cat 3 for 20/60 minutes not 5/20.

YP - It does indeed make you sound like a hill climber, my best hill climb result was in a 17 min climb however I love the 3 min efforts which frankly in the big boys league I am not that good at.

I keep being tempted to get WKO. I keep thinking about Golden Cheetah to see how much I'd use it, as a cheaper alternative, but the apparent ease with which it links with Training Peaks, makes me wonder if I should just plump for WKO. And my very data driven nature means I will most likely get quite a bit from it.

First I have heard of WKO. No idea what I am.
Did my first TDZ today - Stage 5 after party, entered blind not knowing the route and it took me up that bloody Volcano again! Quite enjoyed it though and finished second. Two riders broke away early on and I assumed both were ZP but only one was, it felt surprisingly easy beating the rest up the hill and showed me just how competitive the ZRL is.

Fopp: WKO is training data analysis software. Where Training Peaks is something of a training data repository with some pretty decent high level analysis tools, WKO takes it a step further in just how much you can interrogate that data. Stuff for those of us who almost enjoy 'paralysis by analysis'! 😁

Analysis of mechanical systems is my day job, and something I enjoy. It won't be a hardship to consider myself just another mechanical system in need of analysis (indeed not doing so would be more of a challenge!) 😁
