Not that I'm aware of - she works with the charity we adopted Shadow and Laika (our late hond), and will soon adopt Lanza, through as a foster carer, as well as taking dogs that have been adopted for boarding, so she's usually used to dogs that need some extra care.

We've been talking the dogs to her for nearly nine years, and while there have been the odd little issues those have mostly been because shadow is a grumpy old man who gets into disagreements with other boys, which we can't really blame her for.

Good news about Bel and Shadow. More mixed news about Jet though - I hope the anxiety settles over the next few days, because staying awake all night is a long way short of ideal for all of you.

Literally just as I posted she's out of surgery. Probably chicken (possibly squirrel) bones. Expensive, but hopefully no lasting issues.

Fingers crossed for a quick recovery!

Our Bel is just about back to her normal self, thankfully.

Or, mostly thankfully.

She's eaten one of my slippers 😂

Glad to hear Bel and Shadow are nearly there, and hope Bella recovers quickly from surgery.

Bella's still at the vets while they bring the pain meds down. I'm glad they're doing it carefully, but £600 per overnight stay is a lot.

We are just back from a stay at the North Lakes Hotel, Penrith for my works Xmas party. It is a bit out of our normal price range, but we were able to take Poppy and have a dog friendly room.

Well, very impressed with the attention to doggy detail!
In our (quite large) room on arrival was a soft mat for her lie on, a bowl, a towel and a little bag with biscuits and emergency poo bags in.
We were given a key for the 'doggy door' so we didn't have to walk all the way through the hotel to pop outside.

Then, this morning at breakfast, we were able to take her with us and she was again given a fluffy mat to sit on AND a whole Cumberland sausage to herself! The waitress asked if she would like one, we didn't need to order it for her. (we were expecting to sneak her a couple of scraps from our plate.)

Mind you, it is a proper nice hotel so the human touches are nice too, posh toiletries, a coffee maker in the room, full sized Herdie mugs, fresh milk dispenser in the hall way instead of those awful pots of UHT milk.

The spa looks nice, has a pool and a full gym, robes and sliders in your room. We did ask if the dog could go in the pool (joking, obvs) but that was a step too far!

That sounds amazing - especially having a separate doggy door too
