Poor Ernie :( I hope he heals quickly and isn't too affected by the experience.

Dog walker took Ernie out with some dogs he knows and usually happily plays with. He was really wary of Big Dave apparently and visibly anxious. She put him back in the van with Bisto, her chocolate lab who he's known since he was a pup. I'm gutted. Hopefully some time will help but he's already reactive with some dogs due to repeated attacks by a JRT in the village.

That's sad and also very annoying HP, but hopefully he will become less anxious as time goes by with no repetition.

Floss is always 'circumspect', but no stronger than that, meeting small terriers and greyhounds, both dog types she's been chased/attacked by years ago.

ION Floss had her annual vaccinations and kennel cough shot today. While the vet was examining her she commented that Floss' panting was quite 'raspy'. Apparently it's common with elderly retriever types that their larynx thickens with age. This would explain why she snores so loudly in the evening! The vet said there was no need to worry about this thickening unless it started making it difficult for her to catch her breath when playing or panting excessively if she gets really hot. Certainly at the moment neither of those issues have arisen, and in fact the vet thought Floss was in very fine fettle for a nearly 12 year old Lab :-)

That’s good news LD. I didn’t know that about larynx thickening. It’s good it doesn’t impact much.

halfpint our Cairo got attacked by a husky just after Xmas luckily he had a jacket on that saved him from any serious damage rather than the deep bruising. Since we have had issues with him being left alone and if he spots another husky he gets very very animated

Poor Ernie. I remember all the problems you had with the JRT and his somewhat inconsiderate owner. Hope the dog walker continues to give him good experiences and he'll soon feel more settled.
