Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

One of Monty’s sibling has had 3 separate trips to the vet recently to remove seeds from his ears.

Phoebe is going for her spay operation tomorrow.

I'm leaving the day firmly in the hands of Ali, as I'm working, but would welcome any general advice?

MazH Bella was pretty much fine after hers (we went for the keyhole option). It took a bit longer for her to get the all clear to resume all normal activity than we'd have liked, but the scars have healed so well, you struggle to find them.

The only thing we did for a couple of days was pick her up slightly differently (hug round front and back legs) and put a cushion on the floor to make it easier for her to get on the sofa.

Good advice Big G, thank you.

The issue with keyhole spaying, we found, was that because there was a minimal wound to heal, Flossie seemed to think she didn't need to stay calm until the internal work had healed (she was only a year old - she'd be a great deal calmer now!

Albie hasn’t been himself all day - he didn’t eat his breakfast (very unusual) and hadn’t touched anything when I came home from work. The dog walker said he was playful on his walk earlier today but subdued before and after. Waiting for a vet call back - supposed to be a same day call back but who knows when they will manage it.

It’s quite concerning as as far as I know he’s not taken any food (or water) today. I’m concerned it may be a relapse of his SRMA (steroid responsive meningitis) which he finished his steroids for about 2 months ago.

They are such a worry sometimes! He’s just laying and snoozing on his bed.

Fingers crossed it's nothing serious and he's quickly back to his normal self.

We took Frankie to meet niece's pup Lola today :)

Monty is currently at the vet. Late yesterday evening he started limping and wouldn’t let us close to his front left paw. Still the same this morning so we took him in. He wouldn’t let the vet look either so it’s a sedation for him this afternoon. Vet suspects a grass seed or similar in his paw :-(

I hope Albie is OK and getting better today, PenW.

I've heard that there's a lot of grass seed problems happening this year for some reason, Pothunter.

Lola is VERY cute, TR!

Albie is much better today - he’s back on his steroids as it looks like it is a relapse. He’s definitely got his appetite back! Glad I got him seen last night even if it did cost a fortune (thankfully insurance will cover).
