Since Cookie started with an under active thyroid one of his signs is dry and dandruffy skin.

Thanks Dave - I've just looked up the symptoms of that and have managed to get a vets appointment before the weekend (which is quicker than I expected) as some of the other signs ring true as well. Whatever is causing it I think it's unlikely to be something that will 'just clear up on it's own.'

It was like some kind of weird version of the Matrix. I wonder if there was anyone who actually understood it, prior to seeing the pic

Did George type that? Stanley translated it and said it sounds like George is having a fabulous time on his holiday and that he must remember to shake himself very fast just after he gets out of the pool as long as he is within close proximity of at least 2 complete strangers..

Dave A Thanks for mentioning about Cookie, I took Wanda to the vet - asked about whether the symptoms could be related to a thyroid problem, was told that was very rare but the vet said they would send some blood tests off to the lab (at considerably more cost than we'd imagined!) and got a call today to say it is indeed a thyroid issue. Picking up the meds in the morning that she will be on for the rest of her life and we'll have another appointment in three weeks to see if they have got the dosage right. Can't help but wonder if there is a tie in with her other health issues a couple of months ago but even if there is (and I'll be asking the vet that at our next appointment) she's still here and even if she ends up on so many tablets that she'll rattle when she goes for a walk she doesn't seem ready to give up the ghost yet. And I am so glad we changed our vets a couple of years ago. I didn't think the one we used to be with was bad and we were happy to be customers there (at the time) but I'm so glad we are now with the new vets - superior facilities and very good staff. |
