Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hope it’s nothing serious vrap. I’m guessing the buzzy one will be banned for life, too (as I was when diagnosed). Prior to that I had about 20 years of fails due to having spent time in “dubious” locations within the qualifying period (usually Turkey and the wider middle east, although a couple of times for South America)…

It was completely out of the blue and I don't have any symptoms or noticeably reduced exercise tolerance so it's probably artefact. I've got an appointment to have a health check including bloods at my GP's surgery on Thursday (our local practice is excellent). I did have an artefactually low Hb once before, a long time ago, but that was only a 3 month ban and it was normal when I had a proper venous sample taken by my GP.

The buzzy one hasn't tried to donate since receiving his diagnosis and being started on treatment.

Gosh vrap that is a proper ban

I’m booked for 21st Feb, not donated for a while as it was increasingly difficult to get an appointment

Aw no Vrap. Must be at anaemic level for a 12 month ban. That’s what I got a few years ago.

Hope levels all ok at GP.
