Annoys me to V'rap. I understand the reason why but it does annoy me seeing as the reason why doesn't effect me anymore and hasn't for over 25 years....

Lady at bed beside me was on 72 I think and she was really excited to be approaching 75. Pretty impressive. You and eL Bee are troopers!

I'm at 40, I think. Was just glad I managed to have decent haemoglobin level to be able to give.

I managed 4 in a year once (just) with gap going down to 12 weeks. :-) G

Today!

Donation #26. Got my belated 25 badge. New system didn’t flag it last time. Quite chuffed as I had about a 9 year gap after fainting badly and then a year ban for low iron.

eL Bee!
Today!

Just scraped in with an Hb of 138.
Donation itself was fine: 4 mins 40 which is about average for me.

I've asked them to redo a Hb below 135 sometimes and have scraped in with just over 135 second go! Nice one eL Bee! :-) G

For any not blood givers who are lurking, I've done a few mins audio for the Podcast (if Fetch and Katie choose to use it!) on how easy and good it is to give. If it comes out and you hear it, I hope I haven't said anything that is either misleading or medically dangerous!! :-) G

Fragile Do Not Bend
Interestingly they are talking about encouraging more men to donate on the local radio today, because there is someone local who needs regular transfusions of blood that can only come from men (for some medical reason that I missed). Apparently men are less likely to give than women.
