Another one who can't donate due to living abroad (Switzerland) but grew up in the UK. Seems we are banned in many countries. Thanks to all who can donate.

Well done. That is slow. Someone (V'rap?) said it was usually poor needle placement.

I had to cancel mine just before Christmas as I wasn't sure if I had a lurgy or not, I was still full of something. Not sure when I'll book in next, I'll need to see how my running's going first.

Back in the chair this Saturday, first time in about a year I think - I've been distracted by new job & location, struggling to find convenient dates, other rubbish excuses...

I'm on early so hopefully they won't be running too late - I have a packed programme on Saturday, can't afford any delays!

Lol V'rap - I'm happy for them to have it, but they were reluctant to take it! I'm usually a 4 minuter. Record in Lauriston is 3.5 mins apparently!

First nurse and I were discussing nice big veins, easy to get etc, then she did an "Oh" as she put needle in. I don't usually watch. I'm not very squeamish about blood or needles, but would be embarrassed if I threw up or fainted, so I look away! But the "Oh" made me look. She said the vein had moved as she was going in? Anway, it started flowing but then stopped a min or so later and another nurse had to jiggle it about. That was quite sore! But I said it was OK and it got it going again. :-) G

Didn't stabilise the vein properly before putting the needle in. Happens to us all sometimes :)

eL Bee! is giving blood this afternoon. I was most disgruntled to discover that although we both did our last donations at the same time, he can donate again sooner than I can. Not that it's a race to 75 or anything like that ;)
