Fragile Do Not Bend
Booking my next donation, I noticed that this evening’s appointment was showing on the website with a cancel button. Very tempted to try cancelling it to see if it breaks their system 😅

Pothunter
Heard about this thread on the podcast :-)

Just wanted to say an enormous thank you to everyone who donates. In June 2012 I had surgery during which I lost 4.5 litres of blood. If it wasn’t for donors like you I wouldn’t be here.

I’m glad I gave blood when I was at uni (although had to stop because of low iron issues). Having received blood my blood is now no longer deemed desirable so my donor days are past.

Hey Pothunter - isn't it amazing that we can still find new bits of Fetchland that we didn't know about. Glad you got the blood you need.

Happy to give blood. I like doing it - mostly for the biscuits! :-) G

My last donation went to Worcester. At least it's somewhere the rest of me has been this time :)

Sushi.
I gave on Monday.

Not sure about the English transfusion service but Wales is extremely short of Oneg at the moment.

My son is now old enough to give but not quite heavy enough (he’s a matchstick)

He’s going to join me as soon as he can ‘for his cousin’

She lost her hair withthe chemo last week so he shaved his head to keep her company.

He wasn’t keen to donate till I explained she’ll be needing transfusions to get through her treatment.

Hopefully he’ll be heavy enough next time

Aww, I saw that on FB Sioux, he's a star. What a lovely empathetic lad. Good for him. Is he still running? :-) G

that's lovely, Sushi. My SD gives. Well, she has once. Think she hasn't been back because she was a bit fainty. I'll talk to her when she comes next week.

Sushi.
He’s 18 in July HappyG and definitely taller than that.

Not sure how but that’s 10 yrs ago. Time flies.

He’s not running but has learnt to walk and talk again after his mid-teen catatonic stage 😉

Not sure that that many young ppl do give. Think it’s something that most start doing a bit older. Guess it's something that most don't have reason to think about till someone they know is effected
