Yes, it could be an England only thing. It does take a few weeks after donation to get a text though.

i was meant to give blood today, but had to move it AGAIN. This is the third one in a row, and the fourth one at least in the last year. i was off sick yesterday with a virus and still feel like Captain Custard today, so moved it.
So far:
Cancelled for snow, clash with Squeak's hospital appointment, flu, and now this virus... in fact, I've only managed one donation in 2018... mostly because of the length of time it takes until I can find another appointment that I can attend, either near work or home!
I've rebooked for next month. Wish me luck.

23rd donation today. (When you fill in your form they send you it has the number of donations on it)
Was expecting to scrape through iron test as upped my miles recently. Had highest ever of 158!

Ah feck. Just realised I rescheduled for when we *might* be doing something for M-i-Ls 70th...which Binks hadn't put in the diary...so I booked the blood donation. Arse. Might have to move it AGAIN!!

Just seen this tweet:
My partner just had a call from NHS Blood Donation, cancelling her April appointment, because they're shutting down in Kent port towns between mid-March and May, anticipating that Operation Stack on the M20 will prevent them from moving staff in or blood out.
That's a bit shocking.
