I keep saying the same thing, Neil_E_There, but then something else crosses my orbit and the backlog grows! I did get the backlog down to 59 a week or so ago but I'm back up to 70 again now!

Not seen it mentioned before, but Tim Harford's Cautionary Tales is my current feed-obsession. Racing through the back catalogue. He's a bit of a family favourite anyway via More or Less and 50 Things... etc First half of first series has stilted openings, but after that the "pandemic" episodes are good to listen to with the benefit of 2 years of hindsight. |

Cautionary tales is one of my regulars since I found it but I haven’t gone back and done the whole back catalogue.

Maybe I'm not very well read, or on history at least, but I very much liked (and didn't know almost all of) the Scott v. Amundsen race to the South Pole series of episodes that were within the Cautionary Tales feed last summer.

They were the first ones I went to; very good I thought.

I'm getting mildly obsessed by The War on Cars. Ep. 99 Car Brain, is really worth a listen. thewaroncars.org |

For those of you who have never got over the end of the Simon Mayo Confessions podcast [just me?], I’ve found a 5 live alternative called Shame Well. I’ve had a good giggle listening to some of them…

Kermode really annoyed me again this week. The hatchet job on Scream VI, like the one on Thor L&T last year, felt like forced gurning for show - a tired old touring band lazily going through the greatest hits. Mayo looked somewhere between bored and embarrassed if you check the YouTube version. |

Listened to Who Killed Aldrich Kemp? on the BBC Limelight feed today. 2nd Series and I very much enjoyed this one. |

Listened to the last episode of Click/Digital Planet today. Wasn't one of my top listens but sad to see it go all the same.
