What podcasts do you listen to?

larkim Jan 2023 9:07am, 20 Jan 2023 20,039 posts	0 larkim Found myself with a seasonal gap as some podcasts have paused (e.g. Adam Buxton, Off Menu) and others I've got bored with or finished, or stopped subscribing because of the BBC's restrictions away from the BBC Sounds app. Plus I got some boneconducting headphones for Xmas which mean I'm listening more frequently on weekend runs. I can do back catalogue of both of those above, but probably need to find myself a couple of weekly options to add to the commuting playlist. Will trawl back through this thread for some good suggestions. I've got film, running and interviews sorted, probably need some topical comedy and maybe something more thoughtful.

larkim Jan 2023 9:23am, 20 Jan 2023 20,040 posts	0 larkim I suppose there shouldn't be any god given right to the Beeb's content through platforms other than their own (I don't expect to watch iPlayer stuff via any other source), but I'd have preferred them to go with an ad supported model on generic podcast sources rather than limiting the time. I skip through ads anyway pretty easily, especially in the car, but at least they get to monetise their product and still keep the listeners for people like me who only want to have one app on the go for accumulating podcasts.

First week was looking at why certain areas create really good players in a particular sport (Something inthe water?). Second week about how sports phone in debate shows changed the world. Good stuff. Interesting, not always points I agree with but it's always been interesting so far.
