@roberton I believe it should list attempts below the Flag display. But not sure on notifications. Completed all Lymington flags earlier but nothing showing, Made sure I was exactly outside the doors of the start (coffee shop), to the point I was locking customers. fetcheveryone.com/ori-course.php?id=41 Guess we'll have to wait for Fetch. |

Just plotted a route for my round which should hit all of the points here: fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1867122 I also added a feature request to add an overlay to the plot a route page for orienteering points to make the route plotting easier. I'll give it a go tomorrow. |

I wonder if plotting a route and downloading to a watch, for example, is in the spirit of orienteering? That would make it just a run, though there would be some skill in choosing the shortest route to collect all flags, or the most in an hour. I have done a few events where they give you the map at the race HQ and you have a few minutes to decide how far you can go in 2 hours and how many checkpoints you can get. I have drawn a route to follow on the map, but not had time to sort out transferring it to a watch. |

Also I did my own route in Sandhurst and had a route in mind that covered 13 flags over 4.6 miles. Managed to get lost twice and did some backtracking for 4.8 miles total. π There was about 20 mins delay in getting a badge for that.

I think I already know the mistake I made with my course this morning. The starting at the start point thing.

If I want to do some local courses I think I'm going to look like I'm stalking some fetchies waiting outside their houses until my Garmin gets a good fix on my location.

I deliberately didn't start my course at my house for that reason

Some observations from plotting and running a course. When placing the start and other flags, it pays to really zoom in a lot to get an accurate position. I didn't do this very well and a few of my markers were not quite where I wanted them, and possibly inaccessible. However I ran the course and managed to get to all of them without too much trouble. To this end, it is also worth really zooming in to the map to see if the marker you are trying to get to is off the path. |

Wholeheartedly agree with the zooming in, Groundhog. The first course I plotted was a bit slapdash and one or two of the flags have ended up in inaccessible places which I canβt now edit.
