Also need to think about how any strap works with a headtorch if you're going to be out after dark. Contacts are a godsend for me. |

Lol Rosehip it’s a rather expensive cheap sport. I’ve not heard of nooz might have to check them out myself. I use a buff if I need sun protection I make it into a hat otherwise I wear them like wide headbands I do have an Adidas one which has a non Velcro fastening. Tried to find on Amazon this is similar https://smile.amazon.co.uk/TrailHeads-Performance-Running-lightweight-quick/dp/B01ITS60MG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=running+cap+women&qid=1623308400&sprefix=running+cap+&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyMkQ0NEhCUVpZOVBSJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODYyNjQxMlJJVE5XQUxaSVpQMCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjY1ODU0MThZMTFZRDI4VU5IMCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl# I need to learn pigtail plaits as my hair is getting that long even a single plait is a bit warm on back of my neck. |

I find a buff too warm on my head for the winter! Having a small head I haven’t managed to find a cap or hat to keep the sun off as yet. I think I may need to start shopping in the kids section! I’d like to try a ‘sun visor’ type but again getting something the right size is important and difficult to find on the Internet! |

For sun protection, the Decathlon "desert" cap is quite good, very light weight, and with a removable piece to cover the back of the neck... decathlon.co.uk |

Headtorch raises a very good point - one more complication that the Nooz specs would make easier - thanks Flanker - I will take my headtorch but I also have the Kalenji chest light that can be attached to my pack - the only issue with that is the powerpack (with its little red flashing lights, great for road running at night) is a little heavy. I much prefer a light on my body rather than head, anyone know of any alternative pack or even waist lights? or do you all stick to a head torch? |

I have one of these amazon unavailable but might be able to get one elsewhere? Super bright and it clips easily to a top. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B072Q7CY1H?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title# |

I use the Kalenji chest torch too because I wear glasses (varifocals) - and therefore like to wear a cap especially when it is raining. But I don't run ultras - I'm only here for Trader tips Hope that's OK.
