Hope it all went smoothly Gus
We found the house we want yesterday. It needs a fair bit of work done - wiring, heating, full redecoration but it also has lots of potential and one of the only houses in the road not to have had the loft conversion. A case of worst house on best road

Thanks Gus. Had to increase our offer today by 10k which stretches our budget more than we’d like but felt it was the right option.

Well our offer got turned down the next day.
And despite being determined to live in Brockley / Crofton Park / Honor Oak Park, we looked at a house in Beckenham - Zone 4! And for 50k less than the “seriously need updating” options we can get a 3 bed terrace which is 10 min walk from 2 stations, and the tram. So we have offered...

Please can the moving deities look kindly on us. Flat has been on the market since August and despite being in a highly desirable area no offers yet. We've seen 3 properties we liked but lost out on due to not being able to make an offer in that time. My favourite of the 3 in terms of location has come back onto the market again, so it would be great if one of our viewers was prepared to make us an offer. Fingers crossed.

Any idea why you’re not getting offers? Have you had any? Have you had plenty of views? Is the price correct?
Might be worth trying a different agent?
It’s frustrating isn’t it, but you just need that one interested party.

Thanks Meglet. The price seems to be correct judging from other similar properties in the area. We haven't had many viewings so it may be time to change agents.
We've always been told that properties in our area go very quickly and the flat below ours sold within a week last year. Sadly I think Brexit is holding people back.
I keep telling myself that we only need one person interested. I'm actually dreading the thought of packing up 21 years of stuff and getting it down 3 flights of stairs but my OH has been fed up with the place for a long time and wants to move to a house where we can step out from a ground floor and not have to deal with a committee when we want work done.

Sounds like you do need a fresh approach Scribbler. Are there any issues with a lease if it’s a flat?
Offer accepted on the house we were interested in. Now for the hard part, the legal hurdles and sundry expenses. I’m relieved to have my Saturday mornings back now we have finally found somewhere!

Got an offer at the asking price today, so I guess we start the process. We have to find somewhere we want to move to now! In the meantime - crack on with the clearing and decluttering.

Good to see peeps are moving forward with selling and buying.
I had to give up completely and have just moved for the umpteenth time in 2 years and have taken a rental. I'll need to top it up with savings as it's so expensive in Bristol and I'm on my own. I'm hoping to find a solution a few years down the line with the tiny house self-build community.
Good luck folks!
