A month or so in to our search we have found an area we like in London, and even a place we want to buy in that particular area. We have viewed 11 places, mainly to try out a few different areas of London to see what worked for us, being from out of town.

Only 1 viewing on ours so far, so probably a moot point right now.

Any news Gus?

Things are very slow here, just 2 viewings for a month of our place being on the market. However a second viewing (with buyers Dad) is booked for Saturday. Hopefully a decent offer comes from that.

Had a couple of viewings and one offer, over the asking price but below the home report! The worst thing is trying to pack and clear out while keeping the house ready to view. I delivered my first bag of hubby’s old clothes to the charity shop, only another ten to go😱

Looks like we're nearly ready to exchange on the probate house I'm selling :) fingers crossed for no last minute issues!

Is that a Scottish thing (home report?).

My main concern in the SE is having an offer downgraded if we get as far as exchanging.

Hoping our exchange will go through this week, so we can move on 15th Nov. So sick of this whole "moving house" thing now, that it's ruined the excitement completely.

TMW - not sure, but there is an option of a "Homebuyer's Report" in England and Wales, which is less comprehensive (and less costly) than a full structural survey. It can include a property valuation. I think it sits somewhere beneath the building survey, but above a simple "condition report".

Oops, yes. Per shyfire on previous page: "in Scotland ... its up to the seller to get a Home report and valuation survey done before house is on the market".

Well no offers so after 8 weeks we took house off the market. Saw a brilliant place we liked in London which got snapped up soon after. This London place is now back on market but probably won’t last long - unsure what to do as ours realistically won’t sell without a reasonable reduction in price which makes things a lot harder!
