Oh those (our!) younger days hs! Pace doesn't only apply to races though especially when it takes so much longer (for me) to merely put in the miles to achieve a monthly or annual target. Yeah, hard and fast and hanging on was what most of my compatriots and I did too.🤪!
3.5 miles this morning, went out a bit late at 6.40 am !

Steve, I think that you, Evangel and I, are lucky to still be running. I've come to terms with accepting that I've had to change my approach to training and racing. My WAVAS are still higher than most of my much younger club mates, who finish way ahead of me in races.

Today is another rest day, but I'm still doing the Farmers Walk, which I count as cross training.

A more productive solo interval session than expected in the forest this morning. It comprised 5 x 1k with 2.5 minutes walk recoveries. The last 2 were the quickest, 5.47 and 5.43. This has boosted my confidence now, for the NF10. My knees didn't cause any problems, so hopefully, my reduced running days are paying dividends.

Well it all turned out I had entered somehow it didn’t show in the wrong site so ultimately I re-entered! They said I’d created 2 accounts siting my main email address as the correct one… which is what I’d used to enter this week. Technical glitch somewhere but they refunded it for me.

Just waiting of friend now then we’ll be heading off.

Lovely couple of days with geordiemum in Newcastle, spa day, lovely meal, meatloaf tribute in the Cathedral we stayed over too. Did a run round quayside yesterday morning my plan if 2.5-3 was met with disgruntled looks so extended to run over the Millenium Bridge and 4m done. She did amazing and (touch wood) knee is holding up well despite the miles we also walked.

She was well chuffed at the end!

Hope you’re all having a great weekend, next week for your race hs?

Well done to you GG and Geordiemum. Lovely pictures!
A cathedral is an unusual place for a meatloaf tribute 😃 I don't suppose they played "Bat out of Hell" 😂
Yes the NF10 miles is Sunday week.

Well done LL, for your 6 miles today, keeping your green tick alive.

I'm glad that I had decided to have a rest day today, as we have had heavy rain, and thunder and lightning. In fact it has just started again, after a fairly sunny afternoon. The forest is going to be really muddy tomorrow, especially if it rains during the night.
