Steve, my days of 6 minute miling are in the dim and distance past; all my pb's being set when I was in my forties. I'm now trying to be competitive again in my age category. I also find running slowly to be more tiring than when I push the pace. I'm pleased with the Vo2 readings which hopefully mean that I am getting fitter.
MrsB, I got really soaked to the skin during this morning run, but thankfully the thunder which was forecast, didn't materialise. Will probably arrive later.
Just 6.5 miles on roads this morning, as I didn't want to be in the forest in a middle of a storm.

This is me after this morning's run:
Husbando made me put a towels on the car seat before I drove home and I had to change before I did my yoga to avoid leaving puddles on the floor!
As to the age category thing is interesting, I sorted my last parkrun results table by age grading which moved my from 87th place to 25th and Husbando from 36th to 29th! I'll take a win wherever I can get it!

Good shift up the table Mrsb and yeah..it did rain some! Glad that the foam roller is having some impact on that ib. I'm a bit like you hillstrider in that I find running slowly more tiring--you and I both have distant past pb times but they remain pb's! I've become somewhat cautious over the last five years and not wanting to over tax my heart! I worry about it a bit too much I think. As you know my neural injury and slight disability spoiled me competing within age category ever since I was in my forties and that's why I don't race I guess. I could train until kingdom come and my leg won't give me any push off worth talking about! No run today--weights (ugh!).

I have been a bit AWOL from the thread but I have good reason, I had a baby boy on the 14th. He is 13 weeks premature but doing really well in hospital, today he weighed 1kg. Everyday has been busy going to the hospital and various other things, but he's worth it.
Good running all round everyone, good to see you getting out again Dave. Been a long time since I got that wet out on a run Mrs B and hope the ITB sorts itself out soon.

Oh wow Lesley! Congratulations. Hope all is going well? Have you been able to hold him much/feed him? And does he have a name yet? I know that with some of mine it took a while to choose a name - we had to wait to find out what suited them!

Congratulations Lesley, I’m pleased all is well considering he’s 13 weeks early. Please note though that it may be the last time he’s early, certainly through his teenage years 😉
