Churned out another steady 10k this morning but I only had to walk to the shed to do it.

Oh my! I struggle just to lift the fly wheel section of my rower out of the shed every time I row. Sometimes that feels like a workout in itself.

Storming performance there mate, and one hell of a finish! I’ll update the sidebar tomorrow when I’m back in the laptop. It’s painful trying it on my phone.

Wow well done Sinj, that's a nice way to go sub 7! How was you feeling at halfway, 1500m etc?

I felt good for most of it.
Probably set off a little too quick and had to reign it back in over first 500m.
2nd 500m was really good, dare I say it felt easy. Didn't really start breathing heavily until towards half way.
3rd 500m was hard, but had to just stick with it. C2 is in the shed and it was about 4-5c last night. Lungs, chest and throat were starting to burn with the cold air.
Last 500m was about hanging on. Concentrated on form and thankfully the time went by quite quickly. A little bit of wee may have come out in the last 100m. :)

Body feels fine this morning. Can only really feel it in the quads.
Throat is stuffed from the cold air. Was coughing last night and still going this morning.

DF was set at 135. I think my last attempt was around 150, so pleased with this as well.

Brilliant finish there sinj & awesome time.

I've stepped away from the rower a bit in December as I'm doing more running as a thing called Run Up To Christmas. Looking forward to volunteering again at BRIC this Saturday; last year it almost inspired me to enter it but I'm really not in good enough shape. With a whole year to go though maybe I'll be there in 2020!

How about the English IRC on 2nd Feb in Manchester.
The World IRC is on 7-8 Feb so many of the big guns may be heading to Paris instead.

Sounds like a great effort sinj in the cold with maybe a bit more to come in better circumstances.

I've just done a 1000m TT outside in similar conditions and bailed on the rest of the session. Steady rowing in the cold isn't too bad but speedwork feels brutal!

I've had the English IRC on my radar since the hope of getting into shape for BRIC this year faded. Looking at last year's results, the first few in my age group / the women's open events are sharp but then there's quite a spread of times, so there's the possibility of not necessarily coming last. Anyone else tempted?
