Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

They do sound quite interesting, I usually have peanut butter, dried apricots, figs and sultanas in my flapjack so those would make for something different, thanks LMH.

Let me know how you get on Looby - and anyone else who tries them.

I think loaf cakes are much easier LF. Haven't heard the term 'prisoner cake' before - made me smile, thank you.

Gooner - I think they would be a bit less calorific than your usual mix from the sounds of it, worth bearing in mind if you're using them for fuel. Would be an interesting experiment to sub some of the butter with peanut butter.

Prisoner cake made me smile too

I made butter cream for my sponge. It was okay. Much prefer fresh cream though tbh

FYI, the cake in prisons isn't flat but it is bland. Just not quite as bland as the custard. 🙈

It’s not proper prison cake unless it also has that raspy texture that suggests it might contain a file ;)

A couple of loaves on the go here...

And there’ll be baked potatoes, faggots and onion gravy baking in the oven later as well 😁

I have finally got flour and yeast and made the fruit teacakes that I have wanted to make since March - well, I wanted to make hot cross buns then!
