Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I am going to attempt sock making when my yarn arrives, I have been inspired by the sock knitting here :-)

Wine Legs, here's the mini book they came from. The blue yarn is next on the needles.

The WYS yarns do look lovely. I also like the idea of the seasons yarn and patterns.

So many lovely socks, at some point I must conquer my fear of knitting (i.e. my conviction that I just can't do it).

fraggle's quilt is absolutely stunning. I was going to make one for my niece as a wedding present. Her wedding (originally planned for June last year) is now in December 2022, which should give me enough time. I'll probably stick with the familiar and do a stitch-in-the-ditch log cabin.

I have decided that I really don’t like knitting with lace weight yarn. This seemed to take months, but looking at when I started, it was 6 weeks. I haven’t enjoyed it as much as I thought I would, as I made a lot of mistakes and don’t have the skill to fix it when that happens. Undoing a block of 30 stitches led to even more cock-ups because of there being so many YO, SSK, K2tog. I need to practice that pattern using a thicker yarn so I can see each stitch.

I love a Begonia Swirl - I think I've made about six of them so far. It definitely gets easier once you know what you're doing.
Then you get cocky and start adding beads...

Yes Rae, I can see that it would be more straightforward next time, now I know how the pattern works. Tbh, when I cast on, I didn’t even know which bit I was knitting 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️😂

GM .. I found that with lacework. It was easier when I discovered ‘ lifelines’

But the discipline to put them in wasn’t always there.

But doesn’t blocking transform lace.
