As it turned out Zorba, as it had been so dry after the snow, conditions were fine. Sorry for putting you off :-o Quite surprised myself. The new bit was white, but ok; just the odd mini ice-patch elsewhere. The sun was even out B-).

Linwood, I've read, did not fare so well. Skating rinks and floods. They ran four increasingly churned up laps round the pitches instead.

Fab wintry run in soft snow, sunshine and trails at Hazlehead Aberdeen.

Inspection Last night and again this morning was a pain for the team but they made a great decision in the end and it was lovely x

Cardiff (Bute Park) had 856, improving on last week's record of 815 despite the odd slippery patches

Newport also had a good turnout. Cancellations at just about every other parkrun in S Wales, including the inaugural Riverfront and Grangemoor, will have swelled numbers.

Newport was actually looking very quiet, until the ice refugees started arriving.

Up until about this time yesterday I was planning to be in South Wales today, but decided against it because of all the weather. Given that the ones I knew how to get to were all canceled it might have been a good decision.

Instead I ran Walsall Arboretum where the spirit of Friday 13th caused both stopwatches to malfunction and everybody crossed the line at 59'59. Had the times been more accurate I *might* have even set a new PB today.
