Oh nightmare for the core team No83912! Somehow we managed to give out two token numbers 102 (102 went missing a while back, and must have been returned, but no idea how it got onto the token giver's loop along with the replacement) but that was easy to remedy.

njosmith - I have cousins in Nambour. Their parkrun is new and only opened since I have visited them. The last 2 times we visited them I went down to do Kawana on the Queensland coast. Nambour is trails isn't it? Looking forward to trying that sometime.

Very ice in parts at Fountains Abbey when we inspected at 8am but NT put down some grit & by 9 with a few extra Marshalls next to the remaining icy bits we were able to run. We did warn of potential cancellation last night so numbers down from 400+ to 336. A few weeks ago 300 plus would have seemed huge but this week if felt quiet by comparison. Footpath work starts next week until mid Feb so amended route. Will be some two way running which we don't currently have so could be interesting!

510 in York today, down from 612 last week. It's not that long ago that 510 would have been a record. Will be interesting to see if the numbers hold up.

Tom, Dibble - Yes Nambour is just over a year old, it is quite a small park run averaging about 50 runners a week but they have had a few runs with bigger crowds. Apart from the heat, and the fact it is all on trial it is the elevation that is particularly challenging. There is almost no flat and the downhills are difficult as well as they are often steep so your quads are working to slow you down. My time was 5 minutes down on my most recent Brockwell parkrun on NYE.

'Interesting' new Bracknell pr course today. A few teething problems to sort out such as major bottleneck at the start and the actual length of the course! Plus it is very twisty and turny through the woods and so now even slower than before. (like 2-3 minutes for the quicker runners!) Good XC training though ;-). Tough on the RD team who have put a lot of time into sorting out a new course, but it will settle down.
We had a visit from Paul S-N himself today too, so we were very privileged

I noticed that my local parkrun Ellon had 95 runners last week, this week had 29. I'm guessing that the weather had a lot to do with that, I was going to go for a change but other factors precluded that I didn't go in the end.

Loads of cancellations in Belfast and beyond on Saturday. Vicky park went ahead on an alternate course and with 59:59s, due to putting so much effort into it being their 300th. Loads made the mad dash to us and Ormeau who managed to stay on. Good fun.

The start line at Ormeau, which has a 90 degree turn within the first 30 metres, was chaos on Saturday. And numbers there are growing and growing. They'll probably need to take a look at that before someone is trampled.
