Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Wow excellent running, what can you do on a stand alone mile?

I'll try next time... πŸ˜…

My standalone track mile PB is 28s slower than my fastest mile split in a race and a few seconds slower than my average mile pace for my 5k PB.

😯 You need to put more effort in πŸ˜‰ sometimes that happens and a track mile can be very windy too.

The mile split was very downhill back when I could descend without my knees expressing an opinion, and the 5k was quite undulating. I can only run as fast as I can run, but back in the day gravity was my friend.

8.03, shaved 3s off, last month wasn't a fluke. I thought it was all going pear-shaped at 3/4, got windy in my face. So maybe sub 8 is still there....

Well done @Ocelot Spleens :) And also, I'm going to try to get that house cup point back off you tomorrow :)

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
