A bit late to the party. But nothing new there. The Dill family competition sunflowers have a bit of catching up to do

Amazingly, the ones I have at school are all alive. Will try and get a photo tomorrow before the class arrives.:)

They are in very nice pots, Dill.
One strawberry plant shown was recently bought for £1 in B&Q. As it has fifteen fruits forming, if they all grow and ripen ok, it will have paid for itself, I think. Six strawberries have been harvested from the greenhouse so far this year.

Fragile Do Not Bend
Mine are only about 3 inches tall, but I had a couple of false starts.

Mine are tiny, but I'm going for a mass display rather than a whopper.

Height is all that matters in this competition V'Rap Don't worry if they are small now, September is when it counts
And some of these early starters could be finished long before then

I'm not in the competition unless I can stack a dozen of my sunflowers one on top of the other.
The first batch, in the big pots, is looking sicklier by the day. The second batch, still in the cardboard egg carton, appears to be thriving but we'll see what happens after they've been potted on and then ignored for almost two weeks.

Some of my first batch didn't survive the move to the big pots
I've potted on all of the second batch now. They've been stronger from the start, possibly because being later in the year meant they could start going outside earlier and I'd already learned from the first batch that slugs could get places where I thought they couldn't. But if it doesn't rain while we're on holiday, I'll come back to shrivelled strings.
