Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’m going to give this a try to repel the slugs and snails.
It’s a garlic spray: homeguides.sfgate.com

I put some copper tape near the bottom of the stalk on one plant but the stalk has been munched below the tape! I previously thought that the slugs are only interested in leaves. It’s seems that they’ll go for a tougher alternative too.

Fingers crossed, they haven’t been touched yet. Hopefully they will be big enough to withstand a slug assault soon

I saw a slug item on the BBC yesterday it included a snail slithering straight across some copper tape.

Shook my faith somewhat.

I probably won't get tallest sunflower, but I'm hopeful of mostest :-)
(About 70% sowed, 30% self-set, I guess)

Can I get a prize for tallest thing that has grown out of nothing?
