You don’t need a greenhouse, just a light window sill will do.

Picture of mine, which have been in the greenhouse until a couple of days ago. Tallest is 28". I think I might put a couple into the ground in one place, a couple in another, and pot on the other two. There are also five backup plants still in the greenhouse, which are a bit smaller.

My sunflowers are nothing much, but I am however doing great with green beans, blueberries, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes and a few other bits and bobs. This is calling me!

OK - this years Competition.

The Roolz

1. Begins when you can
2. Ends September 4th
3. Biggest one wins

4. Disasters are to be posted so we can all laugh/commiserate/laugh at them

5. All forms of growing aids are allowed. There's no drug testing in this competition so if you find the Lance Armstrong of Sunflowers - grow it and win !

6. Bigleggy always wins ;-)
7. As the national flower of Ukraine is the Sunflower, the Russian Giant variety is banned.
