Agree Dave, esp farmers (I'm surrounded by them and in constant conflict, well, in my mind, I don't actually challenge them face to face, cos they're usually beefcakes!) We need designs of countryside and towns that take into account water flows, otherwise we'll have floods more and worse. en.wikipedia.org This sort of thing? G |

Not yet clear whether the humidity thing will ever be commercially or practically viable but it's certainly an interesting idea!

It does have the odour of vapourware, but we'll see if they come up with a commercial prototype. Btw. 30th Sept is the last day a coal-fired power station will run on the UK grid. Radcliffe on Soar closes end of the month |

Should say, the article above is about finding microplastics within the structure of corals.

Interesting piece on the comparison of Rep/Dem climate policies and stances. The headlines are as you would expect bit we don't know much about Harris' position on key areas. carbonbrief.org |

Yeah plastics recycling is the great lie. Really it needs the media to massively run with this. Of course they won't.

Excellent article from FT. I know I've banged on about this before on this thread. If it takes this long to get a wind farm permit (2 years plus) which is longer than it takes to build the bloody thing we aren't going to transition and meet our obligations. Banning stuff is easy ( there's less political blow back) but having the political will to intervene in these planning processes to make them quicker is more difficult yet more important. ft.com |
