It’s in the loft…

8.6kWh. We should be able to charge it fully, but when it is cold (and we’re talking over 10 degrees still), it charges at a very slow rate.

Jeff, you must have a faster inverter than us? What power rating @Jef

We can only charge 7.5kWh in 3 hours (inverter max power is 2.5kW) so we can't fully charge our 9.5kWh battery. Nothing to do with the cold though! And our battery is outside house. In Scotland!

I was annoyed to discover this after running as I don't feel this was explained to me by installer.

Cath @cathrobinson is it def quicker when warm? Are you sure it's not just a low power inverter? :-) G

It fully charges within 2hrs when it is warm enough, so it’s not the inverter. We also have the same issue on sunny days in winter - the battery barely charges and we end up feeding the grid, which would not be my preference.

That seems wrong cath - very poor. Worth logging with them as a fault, because it seems like very poor battery performance? Good luck. :-) G

Re inverter, @HappyG(rrr) I’ll check when I get in.

Got something to say?
