I’ll need to read up on the laws introduced this week; I’m aware that freedom of expression of belief has got complex in the last few years e.g. this summary of the Miller vs College of Policing which has gone through several appeals mountfordchambers.com

Ran twenty miles earlier through some leafy Edinburgh suburbs & don’t think I seen more than a handful of houses with bunting.

Came home and my neighbours have some flags up, the only house I’ve seen on the estate.

Haven't seen much bunting on my Cambridgeshire,. Norfolk and Suffolk travels. I do need to check the house in Isleham for flags, he usually festoons it - cycled the back way on Wednesday so missed his place.

I've often wondered why people put flagpoles up in their front gardens... Seems like an expensive undertaking and to what effect?

I walked down to the gym mid morning, never seen so little traffic on a Saturday.
Very, very busy here in the dales - both up on the hills and in the towns. I guess a warm sunny day on a bank holiday weekend.

So most of the arrests were for "suspicion of conspiracy to cause a public nuisance" under the new act.

Nothing whatsoever to do with hypothetical violence either by the protesters or some imaginary counter-protesters.

I predict zero convictions, zero charges, and compensation for wrongful arrest for most of the victims.

(there were also some breach of the peace arrests which might have been justified)

Perhaps synchronous walking in funny hats should be an olympic sport. Team GB would so win that.

There are already competitions, just not at the Olympics (or was that a joke...apologies if so, it's difficult to tell in a purely written medium).

I’m watching it again on the highlights :-)

About This Thread

Maintained by Muttley
So will you be waving your little union jack and pledging your allegiance and scoffing coronation chicken or quiche at a street party?

Or ignoring the whole bloated exhibition of flummery and forelock tugging to inherited privilege and finding more important things to do?

I'm in the latter camp :-)
