I took Stanley out for a walk whilst the Queen was being driven to Windsor - no traffic on the roads, only a couple of cars down the lane of people had taken their dogs out for a walk. Eerily quiet. Not even the birds were singing.

I went out again after the committal service and it was still peaceful. The sky was beautiful with a layer of thick cloud edged with bright sunlight. It looked quite celestial.
