TRO, we got off the plane from at 9am on Thursday and basically went straight to the expo, absolutely knackered. There were a decent number of Boston runners doing the same thing though as there were a lot of Boston jackets there, mine included :) I’ve a friend doing Connemara marathon tomorrow and she was telling me elsewhere that a couple of guys from South Africa did Two Oceans ultra last week :) I’ve done doubles before, but never two majors so it almost had to be done when I got a qualification entry for both. Boston was absolutely fantastic though so highly recommended.

You're supposed to do 21000 steps the day before a marathon, aren't you? 😬

Smashed out a 15:13 parkrun first thing, fasted, then I've been dehydrating myself to save weight for the rest of the day. Now I'm going to protein load before a 10m tempo tonight. Should be perfectly prepared ;-)

(Am planning on sitting down now for the rest of the day!)

Thanks Big G, I have done Boston (2013 - year of the bombs) and always wanted to go back to properly enjoy it. Loved the race but felt I didn’t quite crack the course so there’s an itch for sure…..

If all goes well tomorrow I should have London GFA again which is more than sufficient for Boston Q. Then it’s decision time….😁

Good luck tomorrow hope the legs come alive!

Am hoping to get to Fetchpoint but have to be in Covent Garden by 14.30. It's mile 22 isn't it? Hoping to see a few Fetchies zoom past. Trying to work out the times they need to be running -is complicated isn't it? Should I assume most mass starts around 10.45- 11.15?

That's far too sensible. The remains of tonight's kebab should suffice, surely?

Mine is pretty much identical except for a banana rather than cranberries 😀

About This Thread

Maintained by Kirsty
After getting lucky in the ballot yesterday, I couldn’t find a thread, so thought I’d start one. Bit of background: I ran 7 marathons (2 London, 2002 and 2006) between 2002 and 2016, fastest 4:06, slowest 5:09. Major health issues in 2017 and 2019 and I felt that my marathon days were over, but I kept entering the ballot, safe in the knowledge I wouldn’t get in - and now I have! I am probably looking at walking the whole way, or possibly jeffing. I’m very excited and very nervous!
