Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

From Kings Cross, would you also recommend Northern Line to London Bridge?

My start is at Maze Hill and there looks like there is a train straight there from
Kings Cross, but am I right in saying that the line (Thames Link) isn’t included in the free transport?

Yes, I’d take the same route from Kings Cross.

Just be careful with the Northern Line as there are 2 branches. Make sure you take the Bank branch.

From London Bridge to any of start stations (Greenwich / Maze Hill / Blackheath) travel is free for runners: southeasternrailway.co.uk

(Always annoyed me as I come from the other side and they don’t give free travel in my direction!)

Actually I can’t see a direct option. Even the Thameslink site is saying underground to London Bridge and then Southeastern to Maze Hill

Looks like a Sunday timetable thing that there isn’t a direct Thameslink from St Pancras to Maze Hill

About This Thread

Maintained by Kirsty
After getting lucky in the ballot yesterday, I couldn’t find a thread, so thought I’d start one. Bit of background: I ran 7 marathons (2 London, 2002 and 2006) between 2002 and 2016, fastest 4:06, slowest 5:09. Major health issues in 2017 and 2019 and I felt that my marathon days were over, but I kept entering the ballot, safe in the knowledge I wouldn’t get in - and now I have! I am probably looking at walking the whole way, or possibly jeffing. I’m very excited and very nervous!
