Have you looked at loop earplugs,

I sleep in the quiet but they do 2 different ones that help cut down on noise but still let you interact!

I find them really comfortable!

Devastated today. I know it adds to the pressure. She did make it in Tue and it was a hard day. I’ve managed to run out of medication too and the doctor is a real shit about the whole thing. He can’t prescribe or offer anything useful as he is not a children’s paediatrician. As such we’ve been driven to a private consultant who uses him to write nhs scripts. He clearly feels I’m abusing the nhs which is really unfair as we have no nhs options, and his referral to camhs in jan, which he wasn’t even that keen to do as she wasn’t hospitalised, either was never sent or never received. We are on the waiting list now and in the interim I’m stuck worrying that the medication is making things worse but having nothing else, and I dread how sneering he is. To make it worse she texted me at 2.30am to come and do some science with her to take her mind off insomnia and I slept through it. So she didn’t sleep till 6 and now can’t get up. It’s inset tomorrow so out of 9 possible days, she’s made it in three times, once for one lesson. I am trying so hard not to mind

To misquote Lise Meitner: life doesn’t have to be easy as long as it isn’t empty. There’s some comfort in that but all the waiting and worry play havoc with my mood

do you follow Naomi Fisher on Twitter? May not provide the answer but maybe an understanding why it is not you or your daughter that is the problem?

That CAMHS situation is infuriating. We changed GPs because our original one wouldn’t refer to CAMHS. Is that an option for you? We did end up bouncing around the CAMHS waiting list after that but at least we were on it!

I self referred in September to Camhs in end and I’m now on the waiting list but lost ten months in the process. Dr was kinder this time and has released a script. She is in such a bad place. School are trying to help and Naomi Fisher both amuses and frustrates me because her view of the world is that it’s school and it’s rules but it’s as much people and their behaviour and their emotions, mine included
