Dipps, it has naff all to do with her birth or bottle feeding! What a croc of bollocks.

She is on target to pass everything. That's fantastic! And shows her hard work and your great support. xx

What ITG said. Absolutely. But I know what you mean. I spent most of the Parenting Course in tears and feeling a failure.

Sounds like your support is really helping her right now Dipps.

The past is the past. We can't blame ourselves for how our children arrived in this world - my ds was also c-section and bottle fed. I wouldn't have chosen either but it was the only choice for us at that point. I do regret it, but it's a wasted emotion.

ds was breech. He was also IVF and breast feeding just didn't click - I tried sooooo hard. So I certainly had plenty of issues around whether I was actually a 'real' mother at all.

My sister had an emergency C-section and tried breastfeeding but just couldn’t manage it. When I first saw her after the birth (it was a couple of months afterwards) she was still feeling as though she’d “failed” in some way. Made me so sad: she had a healthy, happy baby boy, that’s all that mattered.

There were posters around the hospital which were pretty clear the risk of death to your baby increased with even one bottle, so vital was breast milk, and that was reinforced as the party kind by nurses, whatever they actually felt. Her shoulders were crushed, I think, by a long attempt at birthing and when she went into distress they pumped me full of drugs and then had an emergency so had to leave me. So she was sky high on drugs too. I expressed for four months just to really punish myself and teen refers to herself as a kardashian baby - she preferred plastic to flesh, and she’d make the same choice again

For the love of all things holy, this is the PARENTS OF TEENAGERS thread and you are still feeling guilty about birth and breastfeeding? What is wrong with the world?

You are all brilliant.

I had two natural births and breastfed for yonks, so obviously I'm the best mother here, my teenagers are perfect and I don't even need to be on this page.

*sarcasm may be employed in this post.

I think the research that looks at potential causes re separation anxiety in older children has statistical evidence re birthing and pnd. So it isn’t irrelevant it’s just unhelpful and I get asked by every professional I come into contact with till I start feeling part of the issue is in keep retraumatising the parents. I sincerely hope the tone of the posters in the hospitals have changed since then. Teen noted her preferring to be at home is probably more positive than hating being at home and I’m glad that school refusal is being rebranded as EBSA. In case it’s not clear, the video was helpful it’s just all a bit raw

Yeah. My teen says she doesn't feel comfortable in the house. :(
