I did Frankfurt back in 2009 (I think). Loved it. Think a lot of that was because I ran well and conditions were good on the day. Organisation was great. Would definitely consider again. Course was fast and pretty well supported when I ran it. No problem with accommodation or Frankfurt itself, largely because we just shelled out on a really nice hotel. |

York was the place of my first sub 3 in 2018, 2.59.54. I'd like to get back there in next couple of years and put some time on that. |

Would it need to be a destination marathon Brunski or just somewhere you could chase a time? Bedford Autodrome is definitely not the former but quite good for the latter.

Ian5 has done Frankfurt amd ran well, and Shades really rates it. I had a place in the Covid year where it was cancelled and I’d booked a Premier Inn fairly easily and affordably if I recall correctly.

No, it wouldn’t have to be a destination marathon as such, I do like combining races with trips though and it becomes and easier sell to the rest of the family. I’m not sure travelling down to then do laps of Bedford Autodrome grabs me, but saying that my lockdown marathon was laps of a flat area and that’s my fastest time over the distance. I’m pausing any further thought of marathons at least until July, if I’m not careful I’ll end up signing up for one before I know I want to run another this year 😂 I also ran my first sub-3 by sneaking under at York, mine was 2017 and a 2:59:45 so much more comfortable than yours DT19 😉 |

I enjoyed the route and event at York but I wouldn't describe it as a PB course unless you'd never run a proper fast flat one. Reckon it must have been a couple of mins slower than Mancs for example. (I was about 4-5 mins slower but also not so well trained.) (BTW there's no post deletion or editing, what you say here is saved for eternity!) |

Brunski, you had enough time there to stop for a cuppa with those extra 9s! I've run the 20m at Bedford. It's a good surface and logistics with parking right off the course are pretty stress free. However it's in about 7 weeks time. Jda, I'll have to be more careful with my posts. I usually re read after hitting go and spot a multitude of typos I then need to edit. |

Oh. It was the end of September last year - I ran it to get a pretty last minute GFA.

I'm surprised Runthrough haven't time a similar event to coincide with late gfa chasers. I think it was early July when I did it in 2021. Clearly still musing over the best date for this event.
