Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Me too DT19. I'm sure that's why they did it last year. It might be a bit warm running round that race course at the beginning of August.

Runthrough added a marathon to the Sept event they had at Goodwood due to requests (I twisted my knee on the weds before and couldn't run). They already have an Oct date for GW and Dorney lake this year. I asked if they had plans to add a marathon to my of their September events and they said no.

I wouldn't worry if Frankfurt hasn't got an interesting course, folks run well there and if you're trying to run to your potential you're not there for the views.

Hello guys. I'm another orphan from runners world. Got a nasty shock when I tried to log in 2 days after they shut the site down. Thanks to DT for throwing down some breadcrumbs leading me here. And thanks to existing members for the warm welcome. Confusingly I'm also OO (from Olney One) my original avatar. The 61 us my age which I used to update every year until RW froze meat 57. My claim to fame is that I beat DT a couple of times, before he got fast and I got old. I'm still capable of the occasional sub 3 though. The last one in Torun Poland this year. I also do other road distances, track racing, and I'm a fairly obsessed parkrunner. Nice to meet you all 🙏

Brunski, you could holiday in Berlin then travel yo Frankfurt on the Saturday. I agree with TR, having run Newport in April which was formed in the main by a 2 x 8m rural loop, it's just about head down.

Oo, good to see you've made the transition. Everyone bar Lorenzo is pretty much 'marked safe'.

That's a somewhat understated introduction for one of the countries top v60s with a low 18 parkrun and low 37, 10k posted this year.

10m over lunch with 4 x 1m underrating at threshold effort off 2 min steady float. Harder work than I was expecting.

Brunski - there's also the likes of Abingdon in late October, though if you wait until July they're likely to be full - though they do operate a waiting list once full so you could bite the bullet now and if you decide it's not for you you should be ok to sell your number on.

DT - good that you got the session done though. They count double when they're tougher ;)

OllyW - I think a large part of the reason I struggled to find somewhere was because I was travelling solo and also wanted a kitchen(ette), but at the same time Frankfurt is the only place I had trouble finding somewhere to meet those criteria.

Good to see you on here, OO61, after we were made homeless by RW.

Thanks to the regulars on here as well, there's some good running going on.

I've logged over 20,000 miles on this site since I first logged on in 2006 so I'm on here after every run, just not a regular forumite, until now. Looks like a great crowd!

Track session tonight, a much needed short sharp session comprising 4 x 400 at sub 6 pace off 60 sec recs (x3).

The lack of pace was noticeable but I knew it would be tough. Started a new job 2 weeks ago and still trying to adjust running sessions into the new routine.

Thanks LMH, TR & LMH - I will adopt all of your suggestions. Gels to the marathon distance, then a break with some real food (if you can call choccy bites that!) and walk whilst I scoff. DT19 - 8mm will become 8.15mm then 8.30mm, But hoping to cover 36m+.
TT - Good prompt for Abingdon, as might do this.
OO61 - It could be even more confusing as I turn 60 later this year. Hoping to emulate you and be a V60 Sub3 marathon runner.

Easy 5 last night and similar tonight with the running club and then await Saturday 11 am (latest I've ever started a race) little bang as its limited to the first 45 or so entrants!

Ouch Ouch didn't realise you were knocking 60 🤭
I'm also racing Saturday, 1500m, 800m and 5000m track.
