Little Miss Happy
Nice Miser! Finishing strongly like that feels great Chris. I made a tentative return to running with six easy on Saturday which had no adverse affect so upped it to an easy ten yesterday - unfortunately my RHR is up again this morning and I feel rough so I guess I'm not ready to push on yet. Any hope of a time has disappeared, it's about getting fit enough to enjoy the day. |

Brunski
Enjoyable weekend of running for me, went to the Lakes with some running mates, went up lots of peaks (I'll not name them all but it included Helvellyn and they were all part of leg 2 of a Bob Graham round). Longish run Friday (2 hours) before I went, on feet for 4.5 hours with lots of elevation on Saturday, quite a bit of standing around, but great fun. Sunday was a big run up the side of a waterfall to a Tarn, again very scenic but not overly marathon specific. Overall mileage for the week was 70, with nearly 9000 feet of climbing. Hopefully back to more marathon specific this week. Knee OK in general but bit grumbly on Saturday's run. |

Miser that 1:16:34 is a cracking time for a half, you must feel confident of a marathon PB this year??

Sounds like a lovely weekend Brunski, I could do without the hills though.

At least there isn’t any pressure for a time LMH, go and enjoy the day. Holy cow brunski that’s a lot of elevation. I probably don’t manage that in a year! |

I think most knees would be grumbling after that Brunski! Losing two peak weeks has definitely consolidated the fact that I won't be chasing a time Chris. I'd like at least two more twenty milers to feel comfortable though. |

Thanks Damo - definitely hopeful! Currently feeling like steady 6:15s might be workable for Newport which should squeak me under 2:45 if I don’t blow up. Wanted a sub1:17 half and a decent 16m at MP run to confirm feasibility. One down… Sounds like a great weekend Brunski - I’m off to the Brecon Beacons this weekend, but will definitely be walking up the hills! |

Meant to say cracking runs from both Chris and Miser this weekend. Yes it was a rather epic weekend away, love running around the Lakes and being one of the fitter in the group meant I got a fair bit of rest whilst we regrouped. Enjoy the Brecon Beacons 👍🏻 |
