Chris
You called it rhb, hopefully its not too bad. At least its now with enough time to get over it before the marathon. Just remember the training is done so this won't impact things

Going to shift my last long run (16, fast finish) from Sunday to Mon or even Tues depending on how I feel.

My hrv dipped Thurs night and my "body battery" didn't recharge. Fri might back to normal and long sleep garmin says hrv normal again and bb 100% when I woke.

A couple extra rest days won't be a bad thing. If I'd felt ok last few days I'd have probably found myself impulsively going full gas for sub 18 at a Parkrun today so maybe this is a blessing.

Good plan RHB. Focus has to be on staying healthy to reach that start line.

Had a few steps backwards here too. The two planned big weeks post half marathon turned into a 30 and 40, albeit with a weekend of walking in the middle. Niggles, work and quite a bit of cba all getting in the way.

Hoping for one last decent week before starting the wind down - hopefully a couple of lost weeks won’t sink me..?

Good plan rhb, 2 weeks to go means it’s about getting to the start line in one piece.

Miser, it gets tricky for the last few weeks to get the running love. Hopefully that won’t impact things too much. Maybe get a good week in next week ready for a 2 week taper?

Had a bit of a shoddy run this morning, was supposed to be 22 miles with 3@mp, 1 @hmp and 1 steady (3 sets) but from the start I couldn’t even hit marathon pace. Got it done so all good miles in the bank. Not sure if it’s the cumulative mileage, still having a bit of a cold or starting the run at effectively 5.30am

Another good sleep & stats on watch so I headed out for the 16 13 steady last 3 a HM effort this morning. Went well given last few days. HRM had a huge wobble early on saying I was at 193 @8m45 pace.

The 3 at hm effort didn't watch last Sunday pave but still sub 8m40.

Rewarded with this... too soon?

10 miles next Sun with a bit of MP else mostly easy.

Full Gas Parkrun next Saturday? 🤔😅🤣😬

Good to see you're back at it rhb.

We all get runs like that Chris. Hopefully it's nothing more.

Miser - I hope you can manage a last good week.

I'm still struggling with this virus - into week four now. Managed a long run on Saturday to make last week 64m but then had a really rough night, had to get up to take cough mixture at 0230hrs, and elevated RHR Sunday with a return of the sore and gunky throat and headache. It seems that every time I run I pay for it later/the next day. Would like to get one more long run in but I'm not going to stress about it. I should have done enough to run a comfortable GFA if not a GFM (Good For Me) and I've exceeded my fundraising target though if anyone would like to add to it I'd be grateful!

Thanks folks - aim is now for a big final 10 days or so before a taper.

Chris - starting early always crushes my ability to run fast - just an extra 45 minutes to eat/digest and finish waking up is transformative - hopefully something similar for you!

LMH - I’ve just donated - all the best for Julie and top work raising the money.

RHB - so much of HRM info is random blips - general trend is definitely good!
