Think this'll end up being my biggest week but wouldn't mind throwing a bit of MP into a longish run next weekend in UK conditions.

I'm thinking 55-60 this week, 45 next, then maybe 20 or so plus the marathon the week after? Not really planned it but think that's my usual approach.

Feeling injury free but not yet set a target. Will see how pace feels when I get back, as not really feeling quick here.

Yeah the little one was I’ll for a few days earlier in the week so I assume it’s a minor ailment. I think there must have been some kind of inflammation because my ribs hurt when I ran. Last time I had that was after covid. Luckily all feels pretty good today so nothing to panic about.

Lmh - has your virus finally gone?

Sounds like a good plan brunski, you’ll have to go on holiday near marathon time more often!

Maranoia today presents as a stabbing pain on the outside/ underneath edge of left foot (also my manageable mortons neuroma foot). Quick Google being dangerous as diagnosis tool, it gives me this suggesting 5th Metatarsal fracture:

nhslanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

Let's hope it is just a taper twinge and there is no pain tomorrow.

Fingers crossed rhb. Just keep things easy and short this week. Always tough when you've gotten used to putting in the miles over the last few months

Hopefully just taper madness rhb. Maybe give it a good going over with Voltarol gel or similar to persuade it you've dealt with it appropriately?

Thanks both, reflection on last week the running miles were high but as we were away my cycling journey miles became walking miles, only averaged 4 per day but very slow as seaside promenade wandering mostly. Maybe additional strain on feet from time upright on solid surfaces?

I'll grimace and bear and it and face the consequences on Monday unless it worsens significantly in the coming days.

It’s a dangerous activity, walking. I prescribe a serious bout of feet up on the sofa :-)
