No that was probably the longest hard run before the race day. Now only a few more easier long runs, and maybe some shorter preparation race.

"10 x 800 at 5k with 400 recovery at 10k pace sounds literally impossible given it would be more than 10k at faster than 10k pace?"
Yeah it didn't sound sustainable to me when I saw it noted. Annoyingly, I can't find the link which mentioned this I think it was a preview blurb on Google.
Happy not to pin my hopes on the times I was hitting. 20 miles steady to do today.

If it was possible, it would be the new way to race, lol.
I've recently been doing a club session that's supposed to be 10 x 1000 at 5k pace with 200 in 90 secs recovery. It's not mathematically impossible but if it's physically possible, I expect you'd need to be in excellent form and very fresh.

It seems like a workout that is going to result in injury or overtraining. A total of 8k or even 10k at 5k race pace is crazy. Train don't strain.

Philip Sesemann long run last weekend, 45k at 3:20m/k pace. That's 5:22 mile pace.
I was hitting that for 2min reps and feeling rather pleased with myself 😂

Training finally going well for me, did 1:21:30 at Alloa Half this morning. 3min faster than my previous half 6 weeks before. I just need to keep this progress up for another 42 weeks and I'll be sub 60mins 😁

Top work Damo - great when training starts showing.
Had a similar experience today running Bath half. 1:16:34 for my second fastest half ever. Felt strong and consistent splits to the end - like I’m marathon training.

That’s a good session bowman, sounds like you’re in the right ball park.
Thanks for the word of caution lmh, slight scratchy throat this morning so figured I’d go for 4 steady, 14@mp and 2 steady. It was really weird backing off early. Felt pretty good at the end so all good signs.
How’s the lurgy lmh? Hopefully you’re getting some miles back in

Some good sessions rolling in.
Adapted on the fly here, split run into 2x10 with about 30mins chatting to folks I know at a community event on my route at about halfway. I was sluggish from the start and HR high for effort but that was expected after Friday session and a poor night's sleep last night so i just went with it.
Ended up 3hrs30 out the house & just under 3hrs moving time in that which is longer than I wanted to go in training time-wise really but no efforts today so not as damaging I hope.
