I know this will be tight. I've got an optional 3km TT in the calendar for this Saturday. I should probably tackle it, as it could be a useful benchmark. I'm also very much hoping the current heat levels here dissipate before the 14th. It's going to be an awesome weekend event though thespectacle.co.nz with all but my youngest taking part in one of the races. Should be good.

Just a 5k shake out with a couple of strides to do on Friday and we're there. Weather's looking hot though Cloudless and 25. The heat here is also stronger due to the lack of ozone, so it'll likely be uncomfortable. At least it's only for about 19 minutes, I guess. Getting nervous as this is also an exhibition street race, set in the heart of the Nelson CBD. They'll be a lot of jockeying for position over a short course of 6.5 laps.

Very pleased with my number strangely. 5001. Looks like I was the first sign up for the 5k when they announced it at the start of the year 😁🏃🏃🏃😁
