Almost feel like you might as well have done a 5k TT instead of 2 x 2 miles TBH. 2 miles feels too long to hold 5k pace in training for reps.

What was the recovery between the reps?

Ha - was meant to be a couple of minutes, but it started raining and resat my watch, so more like 3 or 4 after the squall passed.

So 20.14 today. Annoyingly close, was paced by another club mate, I feel like we started a little too fast - 6.17 (which felt easy) and then I fell off the boil 6.36 (although there was the u turn at half way which 5-10 seconds)/6.43 before rallying for a 38 second last .11. Average 6.30 pace.

Ok in the ball park, sub 20 definitely there for the taking, and my pb is not a too distant 45 seconds away. Sub 20 once I turn over 50 would be good. Might have another go next week in flatter shoes.

Nice running Chrisisnull. I did 20:13 for a Fakerun this morning.

Sub 20 is definitely on soon as the weather didn't help this morning.

Good luck with your attempt next week!

Good going Chris, not too far away and if you try again next week you might get the pacing a bit better which should save you precious seconds.

As I don't need to worry about elevation, I can do a whole run one way down the valley (it's only about -25ft), so that saves turnaround time too.

I think negative elevation is cheating a bit. I’d only do time trails on loops with no gain/loss.

Yeah todays was start and finish at the same point. The valley is flat to be fair, but it follows the river, so it's ever so slightly downhill (you wouldn't notice it, everybody hates this section on the Cornish marathon as it's flat and goes on forever) - normally I'm faster on the slight uphill bits (as I was today), than the slight downhills.

19:39 around the Victoria Park parkrun course at lunch time. Would have been a chunky enough PB. Also involved a fair bit of pedestrian dodging.

Pretty happy with that.
