Back to not being able to get to sleep last night, or to stay asleep once I dropped off. I suspect I was a bit dehydrated and also too hot. It's as though my heart's beating too fast.
Daughter (15) is homeschooling this week as there aren't enough teachers who are able to work (they're either ill or self-isolating) so at least I don't have to be up to get her up. It's only an extra hour or so but it helps when I've not had a decent night.

Another shit night. Awake at 4am and couldnt sleep. So much work stuff going through my head and also some family stuff.
In the end I realised I had such a busy morning and wasnt properly prepped and knew I needed to can the planned morning run and start work early.
I was just on the verge of dropping off when the alarm went and so was up at 06:30am and to be fair although knackered the prep I did was invaluable.
However at lunchtime I looked in a mirror and saw a bloodshot eye and realised I had been rubbing at it all morning. Just read one possible cause is a lack of sleep. Reading in poor light and staring at a screen - all of which I have been doing endlessly of late.
Sadly the work related issues mean that the holidays I was supposed to have from today until 4th Jan are now mostly cancelled. So i wont get the break I have been desperate for, but I should at least get a break in January when we get this project over the line

If I sleep through until 4 I've taken that to be a win and just get up anyway. Tried going to be earlier but that meant I woke at 3 instead. Wondering if making myself stay up until midnight or 1am and sleeping in until 6 would be any better?

I was going to take my first zopiclone ever the other night until my wife pointed out that they were well out of date. To cut a very long story short, I took some Nightnurse last night. I must admit, I did sleep well, but this morning it's really weird. I feel like my body is disconnected from my brain. I was going for a long run, but I cut it short as I just didn't feel right. I know it says on the instructions not to drive or operate machinery etc., but I didn't expect to feel as if I was on another planet. My head still feels "wooly." I'm not sure if I'll be taking anymore Nightnurse in a hurry.

I had heard Night nurse does knock you out if you have trouble sleeping but that sounds scary hope it passes soon

Apart from a nasty metallic taste in my mouth I wake up really well rested and alert after zopiclone. Have managed for 10 days without it now, not sleeping brilliantly but not awful either.

That sounds like progress, Katie.
I did OK last night. Woke at my alarm after an anxiety dream. Still feel a bit wiped though. Think it's general low-level worry rather than sleep. And also still working.

After a terrible Saturday night went to be at 8pm last night. Glad I did as OH was called out 3 times in the night and we are both now shattered again today.
