Rob: Hope the legs start to feel pain free soon and enjoy your break in London sounds interesting with murder mystery.
Ian: That was a good race well done.I am also better running downhill than uphill which is strange.
Big G Hope the dog does not follow previous dog!!
Shades: Wowser I have never paid that much for room but so worth it .Would the rooms be cheaper the earlier you book?As I said before some weekend it will be
My Ice bath arrived late yesterday so my job later is to assemble it after a collection is picked up.Then fill it up.I have to site it away from OH so he does not fall over it or get in his way so think in corner by my bedroom window. My RHR dropped over night to +5 lowest since 2nd July!! But not going mad added 5 minutes to yesterday run so 47 minutes.

Big G - where are you heading to this weekend, I'm assuming Ross on Wye is just a stop on the way.
Rob - you must have given that leg a nasty knock on Sunday. Busy couple of days for you.
WP - that's good the RHR is steadily coming down now.
Hope the ice bath is easy to assemble. That would be a sizeable water feature in the bedroom 🤣. It needs to be outside so in the coldest days of winter it will be nicely chilled 🥶
No, I wouldn't have got the hotel any cheaper by booking earlier, too early and the hotels don't have their prices/availability on their websites. There are some cheaper options, my hotel is a 4 star. If you only want to pay £50 that would only get you a bed in a shared hostel dormitory the night before the race. In race week I've seen some hostels charging 100 euro a night.

Shades, we’ve just got the 3 nights in that area. It’s really nice around there so just going up to have a look around and then back Monday.

Rob-Its down next year, still got 4k feet of climbing though. It's not that I'm weaker on the uphills,I just try and keep an even effort and lots run harder than me up the hill, but then I have lots more energy for the down and straights.

WP - I'm happy to use Travelodge or Premier Inn here in the UK an for many of my races I would drive there and back on the day.
But when I go away I like a nice hotel, usually 4 star or at least 3 star.
I've booked my hotel for Galway for Connemara next year. Nice 4 star hotel which is £100 cheaper than Dublin hotel, also going for 3 nights.
I'm looking at Cork too for next year. I didn't look at the hotels for this year until close to race day and they were dearer than Dublin. It's also a bank holiday that weekend as it is for Dublin weekend.
Big G - a lovely part of the country round there.

Sounds like a good few trips to Ireland next year,Sounds like some good deals the earlier you book apart from Dublin;-)
I like if a hotel 3-4 star Newport is 4 star but rather a holiday cottage so I can prep my own food but sometimes I can not find one that ticks all the boxes.

I need to sort out Newport accommodation. We'll probably take a holiday cottage and spend a week in the area. Also fancy Cork.
