Shades kids and high fives aren’t too bad but never adults unless you know them, saying that Manchester 2018 final mile saw someone I knew and nearly took them with me.
Big G well done for battling with the traffic.
Ian what is the decent of Comrades? I used to favour downhill running but my injury has stopped that being so free.
Hope the pod was easy to set up and out the way.
The walk round the city was fun, the show was a bit of a letdown. After seeing the last Michael Jackson musical before lockdown came out feeling a bit flat. Was still very good but wouldn’t recommend.
Leg is agony, I was hoping the bruising and swelling were on their way down by now but still swollen and extremely painful. Shin seemed a weird place to land and take the fall! Still no official time for Sundays race either.

Big G - Have a great weekend.
Ian - Nice run, you’re getting some nice consistency
Shades - Hope your friend’s journey goes ok. I have some pals who’ve made it there tonight ok. Really looking forward to the marathon this Olympics especially the hilly route in likely hot conditions.
Aborted 30min tempo for me. Took a rest day yesterday as had what felt like a mild bug the previous day with a sore throat etc. Felt fine this morning with normal HR/HRV but was not feeling the workout at all and got nauseous with very dodgy guts. Called it with 5 minutes to go, bought an ice cream and took a bus home. Hopefully be fine tomorrow.

Rob - that's not good about the leg. Maybe all that walking around has made it worse. Perhaps get it looked at?
Rcouture - sorry your run didn't go to plan. Bus and an ice cream a good recovery plan.
I'm hoping my friend gets to Paris tonight. She booked fairly last minute so the travel wasn't cheap. Ticket to watch the swim heats tomorrow is £230. If she qualifies semi final tickets are £354, but she hasn't bought that one.
Those ticket prices make our marathon running remarkably good value.

Shades-Hope your friend gets there, that seems expensive but guess it's the going rate for the Olympics. I don't mind high fives, but only ever do it for kids. Rob-Next year it's 4k foot of climbing and 6k feet of descending, need to get those quads strong.

I went to London 2012 and saw a couple of the smaller events, plus the women’s marathon and men’s triathlon, which were free. It was remarkably good value at the time, as were the trains etc, but we didn’t see the major events, finals etc. Great memories.

Ian - my friend was only spending that sort of money as her first chance to go to the Olympics and likely to be the last time that her goddaughter takes part (she won a gold medal in a relay event last time) as she will probably retire from competition in the next year or so.
You'll need to start working on those quads. If you're not doing anything yet start with a couple of wall sits a day, start with one minute.
I avoid high fiving kids, snotty infested creatures 😝 Fortunately wearing shades I can pretend not to have seen them.
Big G - I wouldn't be interested in going to see the Olympics or any other athletic meeting. I prefer and enjoy TV coverage. I would watch the marathon if it was nearby.
Rest day today, had a much better night and no niggly back 😀

Slept like a log last night. It’s funny as I often seem to sleep better in the van than I do at home!!
Went for a short walk in the evening into Ross-on-Wye which seems a nice town. The parkrun is that way so I’ll go and do that and then we’ll probably have a coffee on the way back to the site.

Big G - maybe you'll have to live in the van permanently. 😉
I slept well too, but a lot cooler last night, down to 9 degrees, from 17 degrees the previous few nights. I think that helped.

Big G If you sleep better in the van maybe change the matress to a similar one to the van's.
I would be more incline to go to the TDF than Olympics or Athletics meet.
I also slept well and RHR back down again +5 so I can run today.
