Shades - I’d totally forgotten that you did Newport last year. I’d say I’d look back on your race report but…. Rob - Well done on the run and marshalling during the game. Big G - You really deserve some respite from that foot WP - Hope you feel better soon Speaking of long runs, 20 miles for me yesterday around Richmond Park and the river. I do love a long run but think I overdo it early in blocks. I’ve done 2x 20 and 2x 18 and I’m almost 3 months out from Berlin! Not sure whether these runs would actually help by the time the race comes around but I figure I’m not yet experienced enough that they aren’t helpful longer term especially as I rarely race. Recovery period coming up as travelling to visit family. I’ve had a good 5 week block at >50 miles with tempos so hopeful that the rest lets me absorb all that and sends the niggles on their way. |

Rcouture - I'll have a look on my PC tomorrow and see if I wrote a race report. I don't remember doing one, but I'll have a look. You've taken very well to the long runs and obviously enjoy them. As long as they don't exhaust you then carry on doing them. Maybe just keep any MP miles of the run to the minimum until nearer race day. |

WP-We have a few 10m races up here,2 I can think of near Preston,1 in Liverpool and a couple in Lancashire, some have started tagging them onto HM to increase numbers. Speaking of which Chester just announced they have broke their record for entries with 3 months still to go. Got out to get over the 50,must have had a couple more shandies than I thought as the sweat was dripping out of me,got it done though so hopefully aiming for another 50 this week. |

Ian - is that for Chester marathon with the record entry? It's good that races are filling up, we'll have to be sure we don't get caught out as it can be habit to enter at our 'usual ' time. I do tend to enter early as I like to have the commitment. My friend does a 10 miler in Lancashire, which she enjoys, something to do with cheese I think. There's a couple of 10 milers in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire too. Well done on making the 50 miles for the week. Maybe too much lemonade in that shandy 🙃 |

I had my Chester Metric Marathon entry for this year in almost before I'd got to the end of Last year's race. The marathon is superb, but the metric is such a nice distance to race and they're not commonplace. We've got some nice 10 milers (I can think of 5 off the top of my head) but apart from Brampton to Carlisle they're all quite undulating.

Vrap-Guessing your North West,Preston Harriers do a fast 10 miler around November I think? And I have done COP 10 miler in Walmer Bridge a couple of times, both pretty flat. Shades-Yes it is. HCA have just said they are over 6k now,so I'm starting to look forward to it now I'm getting fitter again. |

Keith - I'll find out for you which race it is. She always calls it the 'cheese race'. (Trust the talk of food to wake you up) Vrap - I've never raced the metric marathon distance, I think I've seen one other race of that distance. Teignbridge Trotters used to organise a 10 mile race but dropped it when they took over DD organisation. I never got a chance to run it. My 10 mile PB race was the Southern 10, part of what used to be called the IOM Grand Prix. It was over the Southern TT course. My PB was set 2 days after the marathon, but I haven't run many 10 milers. Race no longer exists now. |

Ian - that's the one. 7 miles, sorry I thought it was a 10 miler. Lancashire cheese to all finishers.
