Big G-Woould your foot react better to 4 longer runs, rather than adding another?
With some happier to do less longer runs it just shows there's many ways to get this done, the main thing is to be happy about what you have decided to do and the rest should flow. Good night at the wedding last night, and mainly drank shandy so will be good to go for a run later.

Big G - 10 miles is such a nice distance, for racing too, although not many of them around.
I have no marathons listed for you in September. You seem to have forgotten that you never tell me what races you have planned, I have put NYC in though, that's the only race for you. I do remember us discussing the camping trip but you said you weren't going to do it. You can tell me about your races, I'm not a disapproving physio 😉
What date is the 100club race, it's on that awful RED course, isn't it? 🤣 Is it a handicap race? If it's a handicap race that makes a multi, multi lap route much more interesting.
It seems you are making good but steady progress with your training, you know the HR will improve.

Possibly Ian. Mon-Weds-Fri-Sat has been working okay, although when I’ve ran Fri and Sat, the foot has been a bit sore Saturday. The issue I have is that I’m so unfit that cardiac drift is on the verge of making a large appearance after around an hour. So if I did, say, 90mins it would be stop/start the last 30mins to keep HR down and I’m not sure if that’s good training.
I’m toying with something like Tues AM, Weds AM, Thursday PM, Sat AM, Sunday AM, to give a bit more time between the runs on Weds/Thurs/Sat with the Thurs PM run, but I’ll have to see how the foot behaves. None of this is a firm plan, but just trying to figure out how to get over 30 miles whilst managing the foot, but hopefully still doing reasonable base building.
People here will probably be pleased to read that, although quite tempted, I didn’t do a local marathon today or yesterday! How is that for restraint 😇

Shades right decision not to push on with a long run, no point enduring it, makes for a miserable final few miles if you don’t want to be there, hopefully you can get back to marathons and that’s your long run shorted. I don’t think I’d fancy an extended DD! Hope you found the culprit and gave them an earful!
WP hope you’re feeling better soon. Going up to 10 miles with high mileage should bode well for half training.
Big G have you seen any logic to the foot? E.g terrains, length of runs? Mine was bought on by pace.
Ian good work on the shandies, I prefer the zero beers as find shady too sweet, enjoy your run.
As soon as a stopped running yesterday the sun came out and was a lovely evening to marshal. Legs feeling a bit tired but stood for the majority of the 6 hours, managed to listen to the game on radio and watched the pens on my phone.

X Post, Shades. Yes it’s on that RED course. I’ll be wearing my 100MC vest for the first time - mentioned it to Chair and he said ‘fine’, and Fizz and Paul will be wearing theirs. Haven’t seen any mention of a handicap race, and also don’t know how many have entered. I hope it gets a good turnout - it’s nice the AGM is down in Devon. Date is 14th Sept.
Talking about disapproving physios I also haven’t done a couple of short, sharp relay races. I really enjoy them as they’re great club events, but I’ve not done them, in an attempt at being sensible.

Robert, it’s a real mystery. At one stage I felt off-road was helping it (ie, mixed terrain, walking the hills), but my current idea is that off-road makes it worse. There’s no real pattern to the flare ups. I’ve been plodding for virtually all my miles (ie 10-11/mile generally), but that’s the pace I’m currently at in relation to my training HR.

BG: I think you are doing well with managing foot and building miles. It is such a fine line to get it right and needs lots of patience sadly.I hope it all comes good again for you.
Rob: Well done yesterday on race and marshalling a long time on feet(Did you have a chair) Any napping today?
Ian: Well done on a 50 mile week and making sure it happened.
10 mile races are few and far between I know the GSR in Southsea, local one to me on NYE but very very hilly and I think one in Yorkshire.

Big G - thanks for the date info of the 100mc marathon. I didn't do many of the 100mc AGM races as often a long way from Devon. But one I did do was a handicap race, course was very dull but the handicapping made it really interesting and kept us motivated. One of the slower runners won it so that was a nice touch.
Those 5k relay races might be risky right now so sensible decision.
Ian - sensible decision.
Rob - you must be pretty tired today, 15 miles racing followed by 6 hours marshalling. And the stress of that penalty shoot out.
Re the extended DD, that was on the old course of 35 miles and I added a few more miles. ðŸ˜. I think the marshal was a naval cadet and I believe was suitably chastised/punished. The previous race director had been in the Navy and had called in a few favours to get marshals.
